As a trans lesbian, I know how important and special proper representation can be. But for too long, our WAH representation has been sorely lacking, focused almost entirely in one yellow-suited rotund man who smells like garlic. Where is the purple beanpole representation? Well, just like with gay fan-fiction, when the powers that be won’t give the people what they want the people have made it themselves — as shown by YouTuber Below Average Gaming, who has made a whole cartridge for a Waluigi game.

Well, a ROM hack of Super Mario 64, specifically. Waluigi’s Taco Stand is a hack that’s been around for a while, a tale of our purple protagonist losing all his money gambling and needing to pay off his debts via working in a taco stand. Made by hacker Kaze Emmanuel, Below Average Gaming has merely constructed a (pretty simple) way to play the game physically on a console — though it does require an Expansion Pak. While we continue to lack a true blue Waluigi game out there in the world, people will wah-nt one and continue to wah-ine about it until Nintendo listens. Godspeed, soldiers.
