People by and large have taken well to Pokémon Legends: Arceus’ expansive world and new take on the series — but if there’s one thing people are still harping on (and will likely never stop harping on as long as we live), it’s the graphics. Accusations of the game looking like a cheap, unsharpened mess are prevalent, and tech-focused game critics Digital Foundry take a look at the game to see if these criticisms are warranted in a new video:

DF’s conclusion is that, while wide and beautiful, the game does fall a bit short of other open-world games on Nintendo Switch like Monster Hunter Rise or the Xenoblade games. Legends suffers a couple bad issues like pop-in or frame rate drops while docked or no anti-aliasing at all, broken down extensively over 16 minutes. While your evaluation of whether or not the graphics affect the experience will vary, seeing the issue laid out in a somewhat objective manner always helps.
