The end of an era is fast-approaching. During today’s Nintendo Direct presentation, it was announced that a final Mr. Sakurai Presents broadcast will air on October 5th at 7 a.m. PT | 10 a.m. ET | 3 p.m. BST. The presentation will see series director Masahiro Sakurai announce the very last DLC character to be added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Tune-in on 10/5 at 7am PT for the reveal presentation of the final Super #SmashBrosUltimate DLC fighter with Director Masahiro Sakurai. The fighter’s release date and final Mii Fighter costumes will also be revealed!

Executive Officer Yoshiaki Koizumi, who presented the Nintendo Direct, promised that Sakurai will “also show you how to use this fighter.” Going by previous installments of Mr. Sakurai Presents, fans can expect a very long and detailed video explaining the new fighter and their mechanics. For example, the last episode on Tekken character Kazuya was 40 minutes long (as long as today’s entire Direct!) and explored the fighter’s moveset with meticulous detail.
With Smash character reveals often drawing in more hype than other full-blown games and Sakurai repeatedly stating that there will be no more DLC fighters after this next one, we’re confident that he’ll make this one count. It’s going to be an exciting start to October!
