Fans of Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro’s work have been waiting very patiently to live the good life in Rainy Woods, following news of The Good Life release date shifting from summer to fall of this year. The latest update on the game is much more positive as the upcoming detective thriller is now confirmed to launch on October 15th, and even has a new trailer to boot.

The trailer features some new gameplay, characters, and story elements for fans to chew on. You can see protagonist Naomi Hayward engaging in her specialized field of photography, exploring the town as a transformed dog and cat, and meeting some new faces such as the Woodland Witch. There are even some elements of magic thrown in, making what is already a curious-looking game seem all the more mysterious.

With just a few weeks ago until The Good Life launches on Nintendo Switch and other platforms, it’s going to be very interesting to see how it holds up compared to Swery’s previous games, such as the divisive and unique Deadly Premonition series.
