If you’re pretty far into Paper Mario: The Origami King’s story and missed last week’s reported glitch, you’ll definitely want to stop and watch Nintendo Unity’s video below and potentially prevent yourself from losing between 20-30 hours of progress. The game-breaking bug, which takes place in the game’s Shangri-Spa area, is still a potential threat to your save file as it could force you to restart the game from the beginning. Fortunately, Nintendo is now addressing the problem.
A Nintendo representative contacted Polygon regarding the issue, and confirmed that the team is currently working on fixing the glitch in an upcoming patch.
“We are aware of reports about issues affecting some players of Paper Mario: The Origami King. We are working to resolve these issues and plan to address them in a software update. We apologize for any inconvenience.”
Until this update is released, be extremely careful and do not back out of the cave that leads to the Spring of Rainbows after giving Toad the VIP card.
