While we’ve already gotten the original Puyo Puyo, it’s no stretch to say that the series didn’t really come into its own until Puyo Puyo Tsu. The people behind Sega Ages know what’s up, as it, too, is coming to the lineup. A new trailer has dropped showing what’s new this time around, as M2 already tackled the arcade version of Tsu on 3DS.

A time reverse feature will be included, letting you undo mistakes. This is sure to help in marathon arcade sessions for when a Puyo pair ends up in the wrong spot or a chain just doesn’t work out, but it can also be turned off for the purest and those seeking a challenge. Speaking of which, you’ll be able to take on every character in the game sequentially rather than a few from each difficulty tier before moving on, giving the single-player gauntlet more meat.

Multiplayer will also be included, both locally and online. While I’d sooner recommend the excellent Puyo Puyo Tetris or Puyo Puyo Champions for your competitive needs (where the gameplay of Tsu can be replicated), it’s still a welcome feature if you’re a fan of the classic aesthetic. You’ll also be able to place the game on a classic arcade cabinet view, or even change the color of your Puyo — including a situation where they’re all the same color and you have to tell them apart by face and shape instead.

Sega Ages Puyo Puyo Tsu is available in the Japanese eShop today.
