You better make sure to clear up some space on your Nintendo Switch 2 if you’re planning on getting the Kingdom Hearts Collection. As noted on its eShop page (spotted by Nintendo Life), installing the entire collection at once will occupy around 131 GB of storage space on your console. That’s quite hefty, though it does include six or so games. That’s a little more reasonable than a single game needing such ludicrous amounts of storage.
One caveat here is that the collection actually installs as three separate apps, which gives you some leeway with storage. The first app includes Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 and 2.5, which occupies around 54.1 GB. The second is Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue (say that 10 times fast), which is just 26.8 GB. Lastly, Kingdom Hearts 3 and its DLC make up the final app, which is 45.2 GB by itself. I’m not sure if the Game Key-Card release auto downloads all three, but you can install what you’re working through instead of needing to have everything available at once.
As Nintendo Life notes, there is a discrepancy with the storage listing. The three apps, collectively, occupy 126.1 GB, which is definitely not 131 GB. Unless the complete package has something different in it, maybe Square Enix got the listing wrong. It could also mean there needs to be at least 131 GB free to unpack some files, which every PC and console does. Either way, you’ll need free space on your Switch 2 for when the Kingdom Hearts Collection [I-III] release on October 8th, 2026.
