Sony Pictures has released a new Japanese trailer for Zach Cregger’s upcoming Resident Evil film, which includes a quick look at some new scenes.
Despite being short and showing some footage seen in the first and second international trailers, the new video manages to sneak in some new shots. Sixteen seconds in, tendrils are seen emerging from the face of a corpse before lifting the body from the ground – likely teasing a new zombie variant or a different creature altogether.
At the 23-second mark, there is also a glimpse of protagonist Bryan (played by Austin Abrams) making his way across the narrow remains of a high floor of an extremely dilapidated building.

Resident Evil will be released in theatres on September 18th. It is a reboot of the film series co-written by Zach Cregger and Shay Hatten, starring Austin Abrams, Zach Cherry, Kali Reis, and Paul Walter Hauser.
