Earlier today at Summer Game Fest, Square Enix officially unveiled the final chapter of the Final Fantasy VII Remake project: Final Fantasy VII: Revelation. Best of all, Nintendo Switch 2 owners won’t have to wait years to get their hands on it. The game is set to launch day and date alongside all other platforms in Spring 2027. Check out the debut trailer below!

Update: Square Enix just released seven Switch 2 specific screenshots on their press page. At first glance, they look fantastic! Click each image to enlarge.

Based on the trailer and additional footage shown during Summer Game Fest, Revelation looks to be a major step forward from the open world introduced in Rebirth. Players will finally gain full control of the legendary airship, the Highwind, allowing them to explore the world from the skies. Travel appears to be a much larger focus this time around, and Square Enix also revealed a new job system that brings fresh abilities and outfits for the main cast.

Update: Lucky for us, Square-Enix just uploaded this massive overview trailer as well!
