Previews for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on Nintendo Switch 2 are hitting the internet today, and along with them some outlets have uploaded unfiltered gameplay footage. As you can see in Nintendo Life’s coverage, the port to Nintendo’s little handheld that could is rather competent. In all honesty, it looks better than the Xbox Series S version, and it seems to run with a consistent frame rate, though with a 30 fps cap.
Having played the game on PC, I’m certainly spoiled by the higher fidelity, but for a console that doesn’t use more than 30 watts of power when docked, this is a great showing. You can spot visual pop-in throughout the video and some of the textures require a couple of seconds to load, but it otherwise is convincingly next-generation. It also bodes well for an eventual port of Doom: The Dark Ages, which runs on the newest version of id Tech and shares a lot of the technical makeup of Indiana Jones.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’s release date
When does Indy make his Switch 2 debut? May 12th, 2026, is when Microsoft has it planned for release. It will contain the full game on a Switch 2 cartridge, skipping the Game-Key Card controversy for physical owners. There doesn’t seem to be any compromise with load times, either.
