In typical unceremonious Nintendo fashion, the company has announced through Nintendo Today that Rhythm Heaven Groove will be dancing onto Switch on July 2nd, 2026. Likely one of the final Switch games to be released by Nintendo, it will be priced at $39.99 for both the physical and digital versions. That’s a little odd considering Nintendo’s new policy, but maybe that only applies to Switch 2 games.

That’s… really all we know about the game. What makes the announcement more exciting is that it gives credence to leaker Natethehate, who claimed this newest installment would be given a release date just a few weeks ago. That bodes well for a potential new Star Fox game, though I’m now wondering if Star Fox Assault will be joining NSO instead of a brand-new outing.
Getting back to Rhythm Heaven, Groove will be the first new entry in the series since 2011’s Rhythm Heaven Fever for the Wii. A remix/compilation game, Rhythm Heaven Megamix, hit the 3DS in 2015, but that isn’t entirely new. Groove will maybe feature some past minigames, but is otherwise 100% original.
