With the release of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie this past week, the festivities for the 40th anniversary of the Super Mario brand are nearly at an end. Likely as a way to capitalize on the fervor surrounding the film, both Best Buy and Target are running some deals on select Mario games that include bonuses when you purchase. It’s a little complicated considering not much is actually on sale, but if you’ve held out on getting a particular Nintendo Switch game and really want a nifty carrying case, today is your lucky day.

Starting with Best Buy, shoppers will have to buy two select Mario games to receive a steelbook carrying case with art for the 40th anniversary. While the selection includes basically every Mario game released on Nintendo’s hybrid platform, the only two games on sale are Super Mario RPG for $42.99, and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe for $49.99. Everything else is full price, including Mario Tennis Fever, Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2, and Mario Kart World. The carrying case looks like it holds 12+ games, so I guess you have to get the most out of it.

Meanwhile at Target, shoppers will have the chance to get a special collectible steelbook with the purchase of a $100 eShop gift card. It’s the size of a 3DS game case, but it features a nice gold finish with artwork for the 40th anniversary. In addition to that, shoppers can get a Super Mario 40th Anniversary poster with the purchase of any Mario game, all of which seem to not be on sale just like at Best Buy. The poster chronicles the history of Mario, similar to the old Club Nintendo one, up to Super Mario Bros. Wonder.

While this is maybe not the best celebration of Mario Nintendo could have thrown, there’s still some cool stuff to nab if you haven’t been keeping up with every release. The deals are listed “as supplies last,” so they probably won’t outlive the weekend.
