On Twitter early this morning, Nintendo of Japan issued a statement regarding a game crashing bug in the recently released Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream demo. As per reports from players, leaving the demo running while having your console suspended between 9:00 pm and 10:00 am will cause the application to hard crash. While it shouldn’t affect save data, there is a chance you might lose some progress if you haven’t saved recently.
“After playing the demo version to the end, start the game or wake the console from sleep mode between 9:00 PM and 10:00 AM,” writes the post, which is certainly unintended behavior. There is probably something going on with the internal clock that causes the game to crash, but it’s hard to say. Nintendo notes that your save data will still transfer to the full version of the game even if you encounter the crash, so that’s a relief.

For now, the only recourse is to make sure to close the Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream demo when you’re done playing. Nintendo will be investigating the issue and will probably update the demo soon. “We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and trouble this may cause, and ask for your patience,” ends the post.
