The voice actress behind Resident Evil Requiem’s persistent stalker enemy, The Girl, has revealed some of the icky tricks she used to make the monster sound so unsettling.
Delanie Nicole Gill spoke at a panel at MegaCon Orlando 2026, where she described the lengths she went to get the creature to sound just right. (Thanks, TheGamer!)
“They wanted a very thick consistency to my spit, and they wanted gurgling and clicking and things like that,” Gill said.
“We did two four-hour sessions, and I went through two jugs of milk around this big [roughly the size of a gallon] to thicken up my spit.”
You can hear the story below around the 10:27 mark – it’s worth it just to hear the gasps and giggling from the repulsed audience.
“I had to lay a towel on my lap. Because of the way my mouth was arranged, my bottom lip was down, and it was just dripping in my lap,” Gill added.
“I had to clean it off the pop bench after it was flinging across the room.”
There are a number of great behind-the-scenes stories emerging regarding Requiem’s recordings, as Grace Ashcroft’s voice actress Angela Sant’Albano recently revealed that she let out a scream of genuine fear when filming a scene with The Girl.
Resident Evil Requiem is available now on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam. We said in our review: “Resident Evil may be revisiting the past with this latest entry, but for the most part, it manages to avoid its previous mistakes – and more importantly, capitalizes on what the series does best.”
