Surprising fans with an actual game release today, Konami was present during the Nintendo Partner Direct with an announcement of the Super Bomberman Collection for all major platforms (including the Switch 1). Compiling the five Super Bomberman games along with the first two NES ones, the bigger surprise was that this compilation pack will be available later today for download from digital storefronts. If you want a physical release, though, then you’ll need to wait until the summer.

Taking a page out of developer Digital Eclipse’s playbook, the Super Bomberman Collection includes not just the SNES versions of each game, but the Japanese and European variants too. Super Bomberman’s 4 and 5 never received English localizations, so they are finally making their English debut in this collection. The original two Bomberman games, however, are merely provided in Japanese.

Here’s the full list of games included in the collection:

  • Bomberman (Japanese)
  • Bomberman 2 (Japanese)
  • Super Bomberman (Japanese, US, European)
  • Super Bomberman 2 (Japanese, US, European)
  • Super Bomberman 3 (Japanese, European)
  • Super Bomberman 4 (Japanese, New English Localization)
  • Super Bomberman 5 (Japanese, New English Localization)

As you would expect from a retro compilation, you’ll have access to save states, a rewind function, CRT and resolution filters, an artwork gallery, and a music player. There’s also a new “Boss Rush” mode added, though I’m not sure if it’s a per-game thing. It’s still a nice feature for players that dig that sort of challenge.

The Super Bomberman Collection is available for $19.99 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch while the Switch 2 version retails for $24.99. A $5 upgrade will be available if you buy the Switch version first. Retail copies will be hitting shelves in August 2026.
