Per a report from Eurogamer yesterday, it turns out that narrative superhero adventure game Dispatch will be censored in its belated Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 ports. Available now on both platforms (with a free upgrade to the Switch 2 version), it appears that “different content criteria” for Nintendo’s platform is the main culprit for content changes.
Developer AdHoc gave a statement to Eurogamer which reads, “Different platforms have different content criteria, and submissions are evaluated individually. We worked with Nintendo to ensure the content within the title met the criteria to release on their platforms, but the core narrative and gameplay experience remains identical to the original release.”

As for what has been censored, it seemingly is limited to nudity and some suggestive moaning. There are various points during Dispatch’s runtime where characters will be naked and/or implied to be having sex. While Nintendo has been mostly fine with this for games on the Switch, it seems Dispatch has crossed a line with the company. On PC and PlayStation 5, there is a censorship toggle option, but that has been removed on the Switch and Switch 2 ports.
On the flip side, it’s not like Dispatch has explicit sex scenes anyway. There was some speculation from fans when strings of data were found in Episode Six implying a cut sex scene, but the developers outright confirmed those moments “never tangibly existed.” Season Two of the game may include more of that, but for the time being, Switch fans will have to make due with a censored version. Considering the game isn’t fully about sex, that seems fine enough.
