It’s been just a few weeks since former Nintendo of America president, Doug Bowser, retired from The Big N, but he’s not stopping anytime soon. Hasbro announced today that Bowser has joined the company as a member of its board of directors alongside Carla Vernón, previously CEO of The Honest Company. Rich Stoddart, chair of Hasbro’s board, said, “We are delighted to have Doug and Carla join our seasoned and dynamic Board of Directors.”
Chris Cocks, CEO of Hasbro, stated, “Doug and Carla bring deep expertise in building iconic brands, creating meaningful consumer experiences, and driving innovation and transformation across their respective industries. Their leadership will be invaluable as we continue to execute our Playing To Win strategy and deliver extraordinary play experiences to fans around the world.”

It’s uncertain what roles Bowser and Vernón will be holding at the company, though both have plenty of experience in public facing positions. Vernón was previously an executive at both Amazon and General Mills, not to mention has been the face of The Honest Company for a few years now. Bowser should need no introduction to readers at this site as he was frequently featured in Nintendo Direct streams and would often poke fun at his last name bearing resemblance to the King of the Koopas.
