As fan site PokéBeach has learned, McDonald’s and The Pokémon Company will be running a 30th anniversary promo between February and March 2026 to commemorate the longstanding franchise and give fans some new cards to add to their TCG decks. With the venerable Pokémon franchise celebrating its 30th next year, it was only a matter of time before McDonald’s would team up with the brand to give out some exclusive Pokémon TCG cards. I didn’t expect that reveal to happen before 2026, however.
The specific dates for this promo have not yet been confirmed. We also don’t know which cards or how many of them will be available. Going on past promos, McDonald’s celebrated Pokémon’s 25th anniversary with a whopping 50 cards, which included all 24 starters and some variants of Pikachu. Most years have been limited to around 15, but we could see a massive increase for the 30th.
One other possibly that PokéBeach brings up is the potential for the Japanese exclusive Pikachu Big Mac card getting an English translation. Released last summer during a promo, it would be perfect timing for US players to get their hands on the card in a format they could read. Whatever the case, make sure to plan some time to head to McDonald’s in the coming months if you’re a fan of Pokémon cards.
