Christmas isn’t quite here yet, but I guess Nintendo thought Splatoon 3 players would rather spend the holidays with their families instead of splatting each other online. On Twitter this morning, the Nintendo of Europe account announced the theme for the first Splatfest of 2026: “Who do you spend the holidays with?” While I would have thought that Nintendo would want to cap off 2025 with an exciting Turf War battle, I guess interacting with people over the holidays makes more sense.
❄️ Forecasters are predicting a touch of Frosty Fest in the Splatlands!
However you spend your holidays, get ready to spend some ink settling this question once again when the #Splatoon3 Splatfest starts on January 10th. pic.twitter.com/bmuqPfVfN8

Anyway, the three teams for this Splatfest are Friends, Family, and Solo. Clearly, I’m a solo rider, but as is tradition with Splatoon 3, this three-way Splatfest will pit every possible answer against each other. Set to run from January 10th, 2026, to January 12th, 2026, you’ll likely be able to pre-register in the week leading up to the event. You’ll be able to collect a shirt and then during the Splatfest, level it up for some cool perks. All in good, semi-clean fun.
The news of this Splatfest does raise a question, however. Where’s Splatoon Raiders?
