Despite releasing a little over two years ago on Nintendo Switch, it seems that Red Dead Redemption will soon be making the jump to Switch 2. Out of the blue today, an ESRB rating for a new port of Rockstar’s classic 2010 western open-world title showed up on the company’s website. While this occasionally happens for games as they get digital re-releases, this new rating is accompanied by listings for Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series platforms.

For some reason, the rating summary is actually slightly different from the original Switch listing, but this new port doesn’t seem to sport anything different. The description is, oddly enough, more pertinent to the “Undead Nightmare” expansion that comes included with the newer port of Red Dead Redemption. Past the story description, however, the listings are identical. Even the breakdown for the game’s M rating is slightly altered, though again, this does not indicate new content.

Whatever the case, players that haven’t yet bought Red Dead Redemption on Switch and who own a Switch 2 might want to hold out a little longer. Seemingly, this new port will run at 60 fps and support 4K resolution output, so it would definitely be a nicer looking iteration of the title.
