Nintendo has dropped a brand-new app on both iOS and Android. Aptly titled Nintendo Store, the app is available as a free download and finally gives us a one-stop shop to purchase Switch and Switch 2 games. While you won’t purchase games natively in the app, it takes you directly to the product page where you can check out from there. There are also some more fun features included!
Nintendo Store keeps the same layout and feel as the eShop. Different categories populate the home page, the first one being the games featured in the latest Nintendo Direct. Not only that, accessories such as the Virtual Boy are included in the lineup. Some of the items that stood out as I scrolled were the Zelda: Breath of the Wild vinyl, my wishlist items (including how many days they had left on sale), the available My Nintendo Rewards, and items separated by franchise such as a Mario Kart or Kirby section.
A News tile is available on the lower menu, showing what you may have missed and what’s coming in the near future. I like this a lot, as I’m well versed in Nintendo news but I miss things here and there, so it’s nice to have it all in one place. You’re also able to check in at physical locations such as the Nintendo stores in NY and Tokyo through the app.

One of the features that’s really cool to look through is your Play Activity. Available by selecting your Mii icon, this feature shows every game you’ve played, dating back to the original Nintendo 3DS. Anything pre-Switch will just show you when you first played the game, the last date it was played, the days played and total time. From Nintendo Switch onward, it’ll show how much time you played on each individual day. My oldest game listed is Super Monkey Ball 3D, first played almost 15 years ago on March 26th, 2011, which is insane to think about!
I don’t know about y’all, but I always have to search for the eShop and somehow pick the wrong one each time, so this is way more convenient. I’m glad Nintendo is finally making steps to make it easier to access their items. Now if only they’ll combine them all into one super app.
What’s the oldest game in your Play Activity? Let us know over on Twitter!
