Stop me if you’ve heard this one before, but it seems as if Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios has leaked what its next remake will be in the long-running Like a Dragon series. As spotted by users on Reddit and reported by many outlets now, it seems we’re going to be getting a Like a Dragon Kiwami 3 in the near future, at least if some text on the official website is anything to go by.
In the original Reddit post, user blubiboy98 noted an interesting new title showing up under the categories section of the official Japanese website for the series. Listed under the “All News” column, there were links to pages for “Ryu Ga Gotoku Kiwami,” “Kiwami 2,” and “Kiwami 3.” Not officially announced yet, Kiwami 3 would obviously be a remake of Yakuza 3 and will probably be more in line with recent remakes from the studio, which includes the aforementioned Kiwami 2 and Like a Dragon: Ishin (which was titled Ryu Ga Gotoku: Ishin Kiwami in Japan).

Lending more credence to this rumor is that a similar thing happened with Kiwami 2 eight years ago, where a Taiwanese PSN store listing leaked its existence. We’ve also heard developer RGG Studios talk about doing Kiwami 3 before, not to mention an upcoming RGG Summit stream is planned for September 24th, 2025, at 6 a.m. ET. While the assumption is that Sega would be showing off “Stranger than Heaven,” the next game from the developer, it could also be highlighting Kiwami 3.
Considering the series’ history and how RGG Studios seems to crank games out at an absurd rate, I think this is likely true. I believe Kiwami 3 is probably going to release in early 2026 with Stranger than Heaven taking the late year slot as a holiday title.
