During the pre-show for Gamescom Opening Night Live, Sega and Bandai Namco had a duo of reveals for their latest and greatest games featuring their iconic mascots. The recently released Pac-Man World Re-Pac 2 will be receiving some Sonic the Hedgehog DLC while the upcoming Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will be getting Pac-Man as a playable DLC character along with a themed track. That’s a lot of neat stuff happening in two vastly different games, both in celebration of the legacy of their characters.
For Sonic Racing, Pac-Man will join the roster alongside “TEAM GHOST,” which includes the legendary Inky, Blinky, Pinky, and Clyde. Players will be able to race through Pac-Village and gobble up some power pellets. You can even attempt to escape the infamous maze made famous across multiple games while driving the PAC-MAN mobile. There will even be new emotes, decals, and sound effects for racers.
In Pac-Man World Re-Pac 2, players will be able to adorn Pac-Man with some Sonic outfits while racing through Green Hill Zone as the insatiable yellow ball. Not much was shown about that as the DLC seems to be farther off, but it will be releasing sometime in 2025 on all platforms.
