After launching on Steam this past May, the rather interesting Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown will be heading to Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X|S on August 14th, 2025. Combining both the Ninja Turtles and X-COM like grid based arenas, the game has been well-received by fans and critics alike for its interesting blend of strategy and action. If that wasn’t enough, it will also be launching with a new “Remix Mode,” which is set to hit the PC version as a free update.
Inspired by the classic cartoon from the ‘80s, Tactical Takedown throws the turtles into 20 different levels, with each focusing on a single character. Players will navigate these arenas and beat up Foot Clan soldiers as they attempt to stop Shredder from his usual shenanigans. As you progress through the campaign, you’ll be able to customize each turtle with different moves to cater the game towards your specific play style. Remix Mode, on the other hand, ups the difficulty, introduces new enemy types with stronger ones appearing sooner, and adds new items to purchase between levels that can either help or hinder you in equal measure.
All in all, it sounds like a pretty substantial bit of game to chew into. Available for $20 on Steam, that will likely be the same price for consoles and it seems like a pretty good deal.
