With Nintendo hardware finally capable enough to render Yakuza in all of its glory, Sega isn’t stopping with just Yakuza 0 on Nintendo Switch 2. During today’s Partner Direct presentation, Sega revealed that Yakuza Kiwami 2 will be heading to Nintendo’s latest console on November 13th, 2025. There was no mention if this belated port would be receiving a dub, much like Yakuza 0 received, but the trailer showed footage with the Japanese VO. I wouldn’t get your hopes up.
As for the first Yakuza Kiwami, it was released on Switch 1 back in October 2024 to coincide with the premiere of Amazon Prime’s Like a Dragon: Yakuza series. Since it would be kind of silly to keep it confined to the original Switch, Sega will be doing a Switch 2 upgrade for that game with some additional language support (though, again, an English dub was not mentioned). It won’t be a free upgrade, but the Japanese eShop has the enhancement listed for 990 yen (or roughly $6.50). It will also be available on November 13th alongside Kiwami 2. A digital bundle is available for purchase with both games.
While this is great news for Switch 2 fans that got into the series with Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut, it also implies that Sega will begin rolling out the entire series on Nintendo’s hybrid console. Since the Switch 2 had the benefit of DLSS, I would expect that nothing is off the table with regards to ports. I would expect by this time next year, we’ll likely see Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and maybe even RGG Studios’ upcoming game Stranger than Heaven on Switch 2.
