Earlier today during the Pokémon Presents, we received more news on PokéPark Kanto, the first permanent outdoor Pokémon attraction. Opening in 2026, PokéPark Kanto will be located within Yomiuriland in Tokyo, taking up about 26,000 square meters of land or roughly six and a half acres. The area will be split into two: Sedge Town and Pokémon Forest, each with their own surprises and attractions.
Sedge Town is packed with places to see and things to do. You’ll find a Poké Mart, Trainers’ Market, Pokémon Center, Sedge Town’s Gym, and even a parade! In the middle of the town is a fountain featuring the Gen 7 Water-type starter, Primarina. There are also two attractions — on one side there’s a classic carousel; on the other side, a different type of carousel (more like the Dumbo ride at Disneyland) has you ride a giant Pikachu.
In Pokémon Forest, you’ll explore a literal forest that spans 500 meters in length. Hiding within the forest are over 600 Pokémon of all shapes and sizes, along with different terrain types to match. Be sure to keep an eye out as Pokémon can be hiding anywhere, even in the ground or high above you.
The grand opening of PokéPark Kanto will be in early 2026 with ticket sales beginning later this year.
