A second Playtest Program has been announced for Nintendo Switch Online, which will allow successful applicants to help test the online service.

It will be similar to the playtest held in October 2024, though this time the number of users will jump from 10,000 to 40,000. It will take place from Monday, July 28th at 6 p.m. PDT to Sunday, August 10th at 5:59 p.m. PDT.

In order to apply, testers must be over 18, have an active Nintendo Switch Online membership, and have a Nintendo account registered to the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Canada, Brazil, or Mexico.

Players can apply individually or in groups of up to four. Applications must be sent by Monday, July 21st at 7:59 a.m. PDT, and participants will be selected on a first-come, first-serve basis.

You can apply via the official Playtest Program page, which includes instructions and more details on the process.

Once again, Nintendo is expecting everyone to keep very quiet about the whole affair, asking testers not to “discuss or disclose content from either the Nintendo Switch Online: Playtest Program test software or website with others.”

We’re sure all those 40,000 people will be responsible citizens who will follow the rules and keep all of Nintendo’s secrets safe!
