Pummeling onto Nintendo Switch 2 systems today, Donkey Kong Bananza’s credits are now public and reveal the voice talent behind Donkey Kong and Pauline.

According to IGN, Kôji Takeda is the voice of the game’s main simian superhero. He previously voiced Donkey Kong in the Japanese dub of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and also provided the character’s grunts and yelps in Mario Kart World.

The credits also reveal Pauline’s actress as Jenny Kidd in the English dub. The character was voiced by Kate Higgins in Super Mario Odyssey – though it’s worth noting that this version of Pauline is a younger teenager as opposed to an adult woman, which may explain the change.

The previous actor for Donkey Kong, Takashi Nagasako, held the role for 21 years. The change appears to be part of a current trend at Nintendo, with Charles Martinet no longer voicing Mario after nearly 30 years and Samantha Kelly being replaced as Princess Peach and Toad after 18 years.

Donkey Kong Bananza is now available worldwide, exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2.
