Now that the Switch 2 is finally out and Nintendo can openly talk about new projects, it seems inevitable that we’ll start to hear about Directs every few months. In the latest rumor from Nate the Hate, it has been stated that Nintendo is planning a Direct stream for July following the release of Donkey Kong Bananza on the 17th. When it will happen, he isn’t sure, but it won’t debut before DK’s newest adventure hits the scene.

The statement comes from Nate’s latest podcast where he gets into why third-parties aren’t yet announcing games, and then drops this bombshell:

“There is a Direct this month, the month of July, but, that Direct will not take place until after Donkey Kong Bananza releases. Beyond that I do not have any additional information as to the exact timing at this point.”

Many online are speculating it will be the last week of July, but Nintendo hasn’t even hinted that a Direct is in the cards. I would imagine the company wants to keep Nintendo Switch 2’s early momentum going, so I could see a surprise Direct taking place this month. I don’t know what other games there are to talk about, aside from Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, but it’s always fun to be surprised.
