While Hitman: World of Assassination is a pretty decent Nintendo Switch 2 port, all things considered, it hasn’t been without its fair share of criticisms. Most of the complaints focus on the performance of the game, which can be a bit shaky when stacked against the title on other platforms. Thankfully, developer IO Interactive is aware of these issues and is working on a patch to iron out the kinks.

In a statement given to VGC, IO told the publication that the development team is hard at work on figuring out what is causing the issues with Hitman. “The team is working on some of those performance issues right now, and they are addressing it over the summer,” said franchise director Jonathan Lacaille. No specific date was given, though it shouldn’t be too much longer before Agent 47 can stalk around Nintendo’s newest platform without hiccups.

Lacaille also stated that the work done to bring Hitman to Switch 2 was a great way for the team to gain experience ahead of 007: First Light. While that game doesn’t have a release date just yet, it will launch day and date on Switch 2 and will be running natively on the system. “It’s, of course, good learning for us to bring to First Light as well,” Lacaille said, “so all of this will be learnings we bring to the next title.” That’s reassuring, at least.
