With the massive jump in power the Nintendo Switch 2 brings compared to the original Switch, the possibilities for third-party games on the console feel broader than ever. Back in April when we got our first good look at the system and what it could run, there were a myriad of exciting announcements, and one that stood out to many was the confirmation that Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade would be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. Now it’s been confirmed to be planned for release as soon as this winter!

The news comes from the Square Enix webpage for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, which confirms that the game will be coming to both the Switch 2 and Xbox later this winter. Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is an upgraded version of the first part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake series, featuring the original game with enhanced visuals as well as the Episode INTERmission story centering around Yuffie.

While we don’t quite have a release date yet, it’s at least exciting to know it’ll be here before the end of 2025. Be sure to keep an eye out for more news on the eventual release date once that gets announced. If you’ve been looking forward to giving this game a try on the Switch 2 then it won’t be much longer to wait!
