As one would expect from the Nintendo Switch 2 featuring mouse functionality with its controllers, players can navigate the Switch 2 home menu with the Joy-Con 2’s mouse mode. The company released a short video showcasing this functionality over the weekend, and it works exactly as you would expect. You put the Joy-Con on its side and drag a cursor around the menu to navigate more efficiently. You can then click the L or R button to select icons and even use the joystick to scroll through menus.

I would have been tremendously shocked if this wasn’t incorporated into the system UI, so nothing here is really surprising to me. I do wonder if a USB mouse will emulate the same functionality, which could allow for first-person shooters to have full mouse and keyboard controls on Nintendo’s console. Even if that doesn’t come to fruition, having the Joy-Con act as a mouse will still ensure that shooters play best on Nintendo’s platform.
Thanks to OatmealDome on Twitter for the heads up!
