We’ve known since the Switch 2 Direct that Ubisoft’s open-world title Star Wars Outlaws would be coming to Nintendo’s next-generation handheld. What we haven’t known is when it will be released beyond a vague 2025 date. As part of the Star Wars Celebration this year, Lucasfilm has revealed some new details about Star Wars Outlaws, including not only its upcoming DLC pack, but also when it will be available on Nintendo’s latest console. For those jumping into the Switch 2 ecosystem, they’ll be able to nab Outlaws on September 4th, 2025.
The Star Wars Celebration is an annual event that details upcoming projects related to Star Wars in the form of films, games, and TV shows. It started in 1999, just ahead of the release of Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace, and has been running ever since. This year’s event is being held in Tokyo, Japan, and while the time difference is pretty stark, you can check out the livestreamed portion as it’s happening. Alongside information of a new Star Wars film set for 2027 from director Shawn Levy, we’ve received a release date for Outlaws on Switch 2 and got a glimpse of what the game looks like running on the platform.
The Switch 2 port is likely being released a bit later than expected so that it can contain all of the game’s DLC packs. Alongside the release date, the official Star Wars website details what “A Pirate’s Fortune” DLC will contain. This DLC will be released on May 15th, 2025, and should be the final piece of paid content for Outlaws. There’s also going to be some extra cosmetic items from the Disney+ series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew added to the game, as well.
