Looks like things are coming full circle for Puyo Puyo Tetris. The original game launched in Japan back in 2014 before getting a port for the original Switch’s launch. Now its sequel is getting its own updated version to mark the Nintendo Switch 2’s debut!

Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S looks to be a fairly clean port of PPT2, with all post-launch characters from the get go. That includes playable characters, like series favorites and guest star Sonic the Hedgehog.

Based on Sega’s press release though, the only “new” get here is a Puyo Tetris Doubles game mode, a 2v2 battle where two players share the same board, as well as gameplay options that support the Switch 2’s Joy-Con mouse functionality.

It may not be a brand-new title, but it’s still a fantastic get that adds some competitive puzzling to the Switch 2 launch lineup on June 5th.
