This morning’s Nintendo Switch 2 Direct revealed that GameCube classics will be heading to the Switch 2 through its Nintendo Switch Online subscription service.

 


The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Soulcalibur II, and F-Zero GX will all be made available on the Switch 2’s Nintendo GameCube – Nintendo Classics application, with more GameCube titles coming in the future. Players will require a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription to play GameCube classics.

Games that support multiplayer, like F-Zero GX, will allow up to four people to play together locally or online, and all games will include upgraded visual quality and higher resolutions. Controls can also be remapped to a player’s liking.

 

What other GameCube games are headed to Nintendo Switch 2?

 

 

Additional titles to the added to the service in the future are:

 

  • Super Mario Sunshine
  • Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
  • Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness
  • Super Mario Strikers
  • Chibi-Robo!
  • Luigi’s Mansion
  • Pokémon Colosseum

 

A dedicated wireless Nintendo GameCube controller was also announced

 

Nintendo will also be releasing a dedicated wireless controller designed after the original GameCube controller, updated with a “C” button on the top of it to allow players to quickly access the Switch 2’s GameChat feature.

This controller will be available to purchase on the My Nintendo Store exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online members on June 5th, 2025.
