Update (4/16/25): Nintendo gearing up for tomorrow’s big Mario Kart World Direct by letting us know that the event will run roughly 15 minutes. Stay tuned and we’ll be sure to cover all the big news that lands during the presentation!

Nintendo saw fit to kick off today’s Nintendo Switch 2 Direct with a brand-new Mario Kart! Even in an hour-long presentation there was no time to slow down and take in everything Mario Kart World had to share. That’s why it was almost a relief when it was announced a dedicated Direct is scheduled to dive deeper into the new racing adventure.

The Mario Kart World Direct will be held on April 17th, at 6 a.m. PT | 8 a.m. CT | 9 a.m. ET — the same time slot as today’s broadcast. Expect a deep dive into new modes, features, and the subtle nuances of how a cow can manage to drive so good.

Mario Kart World itself will launch on June 5th, same day as the Switch 2 console itself!
