In possibly the best news of the year so far, developer Futurlab has announced that PowerWash Simulator 2 will be released this year on a whole host of platforms. Leaving last generation behind, this hotly anticipated sequel will see a release on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. No, that isn’t a typo: PowerWash Simulator 2 is the first confirmed Switch 2 game. Eurogamer broke the news with confirmation from the developer, so we can talk about it here at Nintendo Wire!

PowerWash Simulator is maybe the greatest game ever created and Futurlab doesn’t seem to be messing with a good thing. This sequel, which has a tentative release date of 2025, will include all of the same kind of cleaning you’d expect with some soap system that Eurogamer doesn’t quite have all the details of. According to them, the new soaps players can use will allow you to quickly cover an area and rinse away grime, which might factor into the different levels.

The biggest addition to this sequel is a Central Homebase, which will allow players to customize their power washing business between various jobs. Futurlab is also adding shared progression for online co-op and four-player support for online lobbies. There’s even two-player split screen available for console players, which will make this an absolute blast for local gatherings.

For now, we don’t have much else to go on other than a short teaser trailer. Still, this announcement really brightened my day and I’m looking forward to cleaning more dirt. Maybe I’ll even do it on the go!
