2025 is certainly going to be Nintendo’s year. With the looming release of the Switch 2 drawing closer every day, it stands to reason that partners of Nintendo will be making moves to capitalize on the hype going into this next console generation. One such is rumored to be LEGO, who according to Brick Fanatics is gearing up to release a massive $170 Mario Kart set.

As spotted by a user on Instagram, LEGO is looking at introducing a brand-new Mario Kart set for 2025 instead of its usual “Icons” vehicle release. For those unaware, the Icon line from LEGO isn’t focused exclusively on exotic cars but recreates memorable bits of pop culture in LEGO form. In the past, it has included not only models of Porsches, McLarens, and Chevys but also famous buildings, rocket ships, and even DaVinci’s flying machine. This year, however, it seems like LEGO will be introducing a Mario Kart set.

The user asserts that set number 72037 will be Mario Kart-themed and retail for around $169.99. It’s also apparently going to launch in July, which could coincide with the release of the Switch 2 and its new Mario Kart game. LEGO has released some Mario Kart sets already in 2025, so there is reason to believe that a bigger one is coming. What it will entail, though, is anyone’s guess.
