For older Nintendo fans, Space World 2000 is one of the most pivotal moments in the company’s history. The event where Nintendo not only unveiled the GameCube to the public but showcased Super Mario 128 and some ridiculously high-quality 3D renders for a Legend of Zelda prototype, Space World 2000 has become significant for showing how Nintendo planned to capture audiences in the new millennium. It was also the last time Nintendo focused purely on the graphical capabilities of its latest console over everything else.

Thanks to the YouTube channel Hard4Games, some high-quality footage previously thought lost has now emerged online for everyone to view. Coming from the magazines GameWave October 2000 and Gpara DVD Magazine V6, we not only get extensive interviews with some of the developers on their hopes for the GameCube, but footage of Super Mario 128, a forgotten Pokémon demo, early footage of Luigi’s Mansion, and the aforementioned Zelda prototype in pristine fashion. If that wasn’t all, an early look at the Game Boy Advance is also there, showing off the link cable, different colors, and some games.

While bits and pieces of this footage were available before, most of it has been in shockingly low quality or obscured beyond recognition. Now, we have a DVD-quality upload to remind us of this eventful moment in history. For gaming historians, this will undoubtedly become a beacon of information for decades to come.
