Since the marketing machine never stops, it’s becoming more inevitable that we’ll see leaks of upcoming Switch 2 accessories before Nintendo finally unveils the machine. Just such a thing may have happened as Cambodian retail outlet Vortex Video Game Vault shared what it claims are press images from an unnamed Switch accessory manufacturer that show off a silicone cover for Nintendo’s next hybrid device. For anyone speculating that the console would feature a radical new design, they may walk away disappointed. This looks mostly the same as the current Switch.

The actual silicone case is fine and all, but no one really cares about that. They want to know what changes have been made over the current Switch! The Switch 2 is clearly taking inspiration from the revised OLED model as it has a similar full-back kickstand. The screen is also just a bit larger, which matches other rumors we’ve heard over the past year. The Joy-Con are where the biggest differences come from, although there still isn’t too much change.

Each Joy-Con appears to snap on or off from the device via a magnetic connection, which is also something we’ve heard before. They attach directly to the sides of the Switch 2 and are possibly more snug. The only other change is that the right Joy-Con has an additional button next to the Home button, though that looks like another Share button. It would be odd for Nintendo to include that on both Joy-Con, but not do the same for the Home buttons.

Now, as with any rumor, make sure to take this with a gigantic bag of salt. Things are more plausible here as Vortex Vault is a legitimate company in Cambodia, but there wouldn’t be any good reason for it to leak press images online… apart from wanting to gain internet clout.
