From humble beginnings to a global empire, the Pokémon franchise has gone so far over the years. Yet despite the size of the throne the series sits on today, The Pokémon Company always makes time to celebrate the steps it took to get there. The amount of merchandise available seems to just keep growing and growing every year. With Pokémon Gold & Silver’s 25th anniversary on the horizon then, Johto fans can rejoice as a massive merch line has been revealed to add to the list!
The assortment of goods available are absolutely astonishing. The standouts are definitely the gold Ho-oh and silver Lugia plushies, as well as the incredible Gold/Silver souvenir jackets. Of course, that’s far from everything there is; there’s just about anything you can imagine from bags, keychains, stickers, plates, bookends, and even more than that! There’s even Moomoo Milk correction fluid if that’s your cup of tea, and of course there’s also teacups while on the subject. As amazing as all of this is, it’s all Japan-exclusive as of now. If you’re dead-set on getting something anyway, they’ll be available on the Japanese Pokémon Center website starting on November 21st. If you have the luxury of visiting an in-person Japanese Pokémon Center, they’ll arrive there on the 23rd. Be sure to be fast though, pre-orders sold out nearly instantly on sites such as Meccha Japan, so the available stock may go fast. Otherwise, feel free to join the rest of us in eagerly hoping that this merch line gets an international release, as unlikely as that seems.
