The Valley is about to get even bigger in Disney Dreamlight Valley! In today’s Disney Dreamlight Showcase, Gameloft shared with fans what’s coming to the Valley in the game’s next free update as well as confirming that another paid expansion will be available.

Sew Delightful Update

While players may still be working their way through the Jungle Getaway update, The Night Show Star Path, and collecting candy for Halloween, get ready to switch to winter cozy vibes on Wednesday, December 4th, 2024. Dubbed the Sew Delightful update, Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas can join your Valley and she’ll bring some new furniture and clothing (to unlock via her quests). And with a new update, there will be a new Star Path. The Frost & Fairies Star Path is channeling snow, ice, and “the ethereal side of the season”. The furniture teased for this Star Path fits perfectly with the Frosted Heights biome. And lastly, for anyone wanting more space to decorate and design their Valley, Gameloft has heard your pleas and will be adding a new Floating Island feature. Each biome will be getting a Floating Island counterpart. These Floating Islands will have their own object limits independent from the Valley’s and start off empty so you can decorate to you heart’s desire. For the Sew Delightful update, only four Floating Islands will be available and they each cost 15,000 Dreamlight to unlock. These Floating Islands are Plaza Island, Forest Island, Sunlit Island, and Frosted Island. More Floating Islands will be added in the future. And decorating will see another update – rotation. Instead of being limited to four points, now players can rotate objects at 16 points.

2025 Roadmap

Some details for 2025 were shared as well via a Free Content Roadmap.

  • Early 2025: Explore a new world and revel on a magical adventure.
  • Spring 2025: Step into a land of wonder and meet new friends along the way. Cheshire Cat
  • Summer 2025: Solve an ancient mystery and discover who is waiting inside Skull Rock.

Based on the infographic, it looks like Aladdin and Jasmine will be joining the Valley in early 2025 (plus they were included in a previous Disney Dreamlight Valley survey asking what characters should be added to the game). Cheshire Cat will be featured in the Spring 2025 update. And, for players who have been eagerly awaiting an adventure into Skull Rock (especially after completing a secret quest tied to it), we have a date! Just sit tight a bit longer as we’ll be able to unravel this mystery in Summer 2025.

The Storybook Vale DLC

As teased with the conclusion of the A Rift in Time DLC (and via Disney Dreamlight Valley’s official social media accounts this past week or two), another paid DLC expansion will be arriving soon – The Storybook Vale. Another ship has docked in the Stardust Port and it’ll whisk us away to the Vale. Here, Maleficent and Hades stole this realm during The Forgetting and ruled it together, until clashing with one another, and tearing the land apart. The Vale consists of three biomes – the Bind, Everafter, and Mythopia. You’ll be tasked to restore the Vale and along the way you’ll discover new furniture, clothing, critters, fish, crops, dishes, foragables, and more. And, more Disney and Pixar characters can join the Valley. Merida (form Brave) and Flynn Rider (from Tangled) can assist you in your journey. Hades (from Hercules) will also be available to befriend. As for Maleficent, she’ll be available later (along with possibly Aurora, also known as Sleeping Beauty), as the DLC will be split into two parts. Part 1 of The Storybook Vale will launch on Wednesday, November 20th, 2024 and Part 2 will be released in Summer 2025.

There is an early adopter bonus for players who purchase the DLC before Sunday, December 1st, 2024. You can suit up in the Keeper of Lore outfit as you traverse the Vale.

More details about The Storybook Vale can be found in the Disney Dreamlight Valley 2024 Showcase on YouTube and on Disney Dreamlight Valley’s official blog post about the event.
