With the Switch nearing the end of its lifespan and rumors growing more and more numerous, everyday feels like a waiting game for Nintendo to reveal new hardware. Just yesterday all of the waiting finally paid off as Nintendo revealed what everyone was waiting for: the Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo! Is that not what you were expecting? Either way, Nintendo’s latest device is here, and people are excited to try it out. Those who have already picked one up for themselves would be advised to know that the first system update for the Alarmo is already available.
To update to version 2.0.0, check the notifications on the clock itself and follow the steps shown from there. This new version introduces a couple new features, namely Moderate Mode and Movement Records. In addition, the maximum distance for the motion sensor is now 50cm to accommodate King and Super King size beds. Lastly, aside from general improvements, the sensor zone check will now show an estimated position of detected movement when it is run. That being said, if you share the bed with another person or with pets, it’s advised to use button mode instead of motion detection.
While the Alarmo was certainly not what the average Nintendo fan was expecting out of a new hardware announcement, it’s a pretty cool little everyday item to start off the day with. With five themes available now and more alarms yet to come via free updates, if you plan on starting your day off with Alarmo from now on be sure to keep an eye out for more future updates!
