Nightdive Studios has had a pretty tremendous 2024 so far. Having released both PO’ed: Definitive Edition and Doom 1 + Doom 2, the company is looking to close off the year with a remaster of 2002’s The Thing and the weirdly macabre 3DO shooter Killing Time. This new port, dubbed Killing Time: Resurrected, will be heading to all major platforms (so PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch) and will slash its way to digital storefronts on October 17, 2024. That’s just in time for Halloween.

Much like with Nightdive’s remaster of the Sega Saturn shooter Powerslave, Killing Time: Resurrected pulls from both the 3DO version and the oft-overlooked PC port of the game. It will feature upscaled and redrawn 2D art as well as support for higher resolutions and framerates. Obviously, the Switch will be locked to 1080p/60 FPS, but as is customary with Nightdive’s titles, it will have keyboard and mouse functionality on Nintendo’s platform. That certainly helps.
Another great addition to Resurrected is that it will include cut content from beta versions of Killing Time. The only hints we have are what Nightdive has shared on official store pages. There will be a pool house, a shipwreck, and a “variety of ancient artifacts.” The loading screens in between levels have also been removed, which should make the game feel decidedly more modern than other classic shooters.
In addition to a release date, we've also got some brand new Killing Time: Resurrected screenshots to share with you! 👀

If this tickles your fancy, Killing Time: Resurrected will launch for $24.99 (or your regional equivalent) in just two weeks. That’s certainly a way to ring in All Hallow’s Eve.
