As the days pass and we learn more about the upcoming release of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, it’s becoming increasingly clear that this is no ordinary follow-up to Link’s Awakening. Just this morning, Nintendo released its most comprehensive look at the game yet: a five-minute overview trailer that highlights the story, characters, enemies, and even offers a first glimpse at several bosses featured throughout the adventure.
Some of the major highlights from this trailer include dungeon exploration, our first look at Sword Fighter Zelda in combat, several swimming segments, and, of course, the reveal of a few of the game’s bosses. The first boss is a giant rock monster with disembodied hands, while the second, shown near the end of the trailer, bears a striking resemblance to Volvagia from Ocarina of Time! (Which just so happens to be one of my favorite Zelda bosses ever!) We also catch a glimpse of Zelda standing in front of what looks like the Great Deku Tree from Ocarina of Time. Could this hint at a potential connection between Ocarina of Time and Echoes of Wisdom?
