While this is likely not too surprising of news to most people, Digital Eclipse has confirmed that Tommy Oliver, aka the Green Ranger, will be playable in the upcoming retro beat-em-up Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind. As a tweet from the official DE Twitter account notes, the plot of Rita’s Rewind will delve into Tommy’s origin and upon completing the game once, you’ll be able to fight as him.

Rita’s Rewind won’t suddenly become a six-player game, though. The title is still limited to five-player co-op (four-player local), so don’t invite an extra friend over and make them wait it out. There’s no word on whether Tommy’s playthrough will introduce any changes or if there will even be a mini-campaign for him. Even without that, it’s still a cool unlockable and one that will make replays feel slightly unique.

Currently, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind is scheduled for release in 2024 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC. There is no word on whether or not it will receive a physical release.
