Following on from previous Zelda art books, namely Hyrule Historia and Breath of the Wild: Creating a Champion, last year’s Zelda adventure Tears of the Kingdom will be getting its own Master Works art book soon. As teased by the official Japanese Zelda Twitter account, this latest art book will be very similar to fans of past Zelda encyclopedias.

Publisher Ambit shared a trailer that showcased some of the artwork included in this book and it delves into the developmental history of the game. While all of this is in Japanese right now, there are various pieces of concept art for character designs, landscape drawings for different areas of Hyrule, pre-alpha gameplay screenshots, and what looks to be a timeline of events for Tears of the Kingdom’s story. The book, itself, will house three specific chapters: Artworks, Making Of, and History.

Surprisingly, this Master Works book will be released in Japan on August 30, 2024, which is later this week. Pre-orders are live right now at Play-Asia. You can save 5% by using code NWIRE24 at checkout. Considering the past Japanese books have all been translated and released in the West, it’s only a matter of time before non-Japanese readers will be able to get their hands on this.
