You may not be aware, but Nintendo of Japan has a line of collectible controller button keychains that resemble the Famicom and NES controller layouts. Split into three parts, you can basically assemble the full controller by collecting all three and lining them up. It’s cute and fun, if a bit of nostalgia-bait. Just yesterday, the company revealed that it would be expanding this line of collectibles, dubbed the “Controller Button Collection,” to contain some of its other platforms.

Alongside the already available Famicom and NES keychains will be Super Famicom, SNES, N64, and GameCube keychains. While the Super Famicom and SNES keychains will only feature the face buttons, both the N64 and GameCube will have the face buttons and joysticks available. I actually really dig the N64 one as that is a blast of nostalgia I didn’t realize I needed.

If you’re looking to add these to your collection, you may want to plan a trip to Japan. The company will only be selling these inside of gacha machines found in Nintendo’s Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto stores as well as special machines in the Tokyo Narita airport. As you likely know with gachas, there is no guarantee you’ll get the piece you want, though I suppose trading with strangers is encouraged… that or you can pay some stupid eBay prices.
