Despite thriving during the ’90s, the F-Zero franchise didn’t see a portable version until the Game Boy Advance era, meaning we missed out on a potential 8-bit take on the franchise. Thankfully, the homebrew Game Boy developer User0x7f is remedying that with a free game that’s heavily inspired by the series.

The game has yet to receive a name as the initial pitch was simply asking about interest, but considering the tweet currently has 1000 likes more than the goal, it’s safe to say a downloadable version is on the way!

Be sure to follow User0x7f for more updates on the project.
