Square Enix already has a lot of merchandise, from figures to soundtracks and more besides, but our pets have been unable to share their love for the Japanese company’s biggest hits… until now!

The SQEX Pets line of merch will include various items that are perfect for the cats and dogs in our families, pulling from what many consider the Big Three franchises – Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and Kingdom Hearts.

Tetsuya Nomura, a character designer well known to Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts fans, even created a new logo for the brand featuring Final Fantasy VII’s Red XIII and Cait Sith. A bit odd considering Red’s insistence he’s not a pet, but it’s cute so we’ll let it slide.

Kingdom Hearts has the most readily viewable merchandise at the moment. Perhaps the most eye-catching pieces are a dog hoodie that lets them dress as Sora and a Paopu Fruit rope toy.

For Dragon Quest there’s a little pet house in the shape of a slime while your pet can also rock a bandana featuring the iconic Akira Toriyama monster design.

While we can’t see much of the Final Fantasy selection on the official site, Square Enix made its debut at Tokyo Big Sight’s Interpet tradeshow with a few displays, including one which highlights the Buster Sword rope toy and a pet house based on the Fat Moogle design seen throughout the Gold Saucer in Final Fantasy VII.

These products have yet to receive a release window and in fact are still considered to be in development, so they may not come to fruition. Apparently reaction on the showfloor has been positive, however, so here’s hoping!
